Our Policies, Terms & Conditions

OUR PRODUCTS
We offer handmade personal care bath & body products for Women, Men and Children. We use the highest quality ingredients available. Our recipes and procedures are private, copyright Kauai Girl Soap and guarded unless we otherwise publish them on our site or other media outlet.
We shrink wrap all of our personal care products so they are sealed for your protection. Occasionally there is a small hole in the shrink wrapping but this is just normal when shrink wrapping products, shrinking by hand is never perfect!
All bars of soap who’s shapes allow get their own ribbon/bow.
We do make custom orders. Make a written inquiry on our Contact Page.

PAYMENTS
We securely accept: 
IS MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION SAFE?
Definitely. We use the highest level SSL encryption technology to secure all commerce transactions. We only get your shipping information. We do not keep, skim or have access to any of your confidential credit or billing information. Our website securely hands your invoice over to Braintree Processing (a Paypal company) via ultra secure 256 bit encryption. Braintree handles the processing and all of your confidential credit data remains secure with them.

SHIPPING
All of our packages ship via the US Postal Service.
Our shipping software will typically notify you via email with the shipping details of your order.
Please use First Class at your own risk.
We try to ship out all packages in a timely manner within 3 business days on the outside, and will accommodate you if you’re in a hurry.  We cannot guarantee any delivery time frame and are not responsible for inconvenience as a result of a package delayed by loss, theft, damage, acts of God, neglect or Nature.

$5  RUSH  HANDLING
We offer a RUSH HANDLING UPGRADE on your Checkout Page.
This is an inexpensive service that we offer that you can add to your shopping cart and it moves your order to the front of the process/shipping line. If the product is something that we custom make, choosing Rush Handling makes it our priority in the kitchen over non rush orders. We also ship Rush Handling Upgrade orders first and all others in the order in which they were received.
If you’re in a hurry, add RUSH HANDLING at Check Out. You might also consider upgrading your postage to Priority Mail or Priority Express Delivery shipping depending on your rush time frame.
 No other delivery speed guarantee is implied by this upgrade.

GIFT WRAPPING
We offer you multiple types of gift wrapping.

Product Wrapping: Many products will have a “Select Options” drop down menu which will allow you to buy the item plain or in a beautiful Gift Bag or Special wrapping. These options are per product and not per order.

Order Wrapping: When you are checking out if you choose to ship to a different address, our system anticipates that you may be making an order as a gift. In this case a list of order options will appear which will allow you to have us wrap the entire box in a festive or holiday or special occasion wrap, then box it again for shipping. When you check the box during checkout that asks if this is a GIFT ORDER, you will get the order wrapping options and an additional NOTES: box to tell us what the occasion is so we don’t Christmas wrap a birthday present!!

SHIPPING INSURANCE:
Items sent via First Class postage are not insured by the U.S. Postal Service. If there is damage or loss to your package, the post office will not cover it.
All commercial metered packages (what we use) sent via USPS Priority Mail are covered by the U.S. Postal Service for loss or damage to a maximum of $50. If USPS is at fault for the damage or loss of your package, they will only refund the total amount of the damage or total invoice (less shipping/handling) and up to the maximum of $50 unless additional Postal insurance was paid for.

ADDITIONAL SHIPPING INSURANCE:
If your order value/cost  is more than $50 you may buy additional insurance for the value of your order over $50. We offer additional postal shipping insurance during the checkout process. If USPS is at fault for damage or loss of your package, they will only refund the amount of damage or the actual cost of your order.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:
We do not offer free shipping on international orders at this time.
International Shipments sent First Class are not insured for loss or damage. If you would like insurance for loss or damage, please pay for Priority Mail service. If Priority Mail is not automatically offered on the shipping upgrades options for the item you are purchasing, contact us for a quote.
All customs and duty fees that may incur upon shipping are the buyer’s responsibility. International shipments are usually completed in 7 business days, but sometimes customs holds an item delaying the delivery. Please be advised the delivery time frame is out of our control.

SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION PACKAGES:
We occasionally send valuable packages with signature confirmation so USPS cannot leave a valuable package on a porch and walk away thereby leaving it open to theft or loss. We utilize this service at our discretion. No loss claims can be filed on a package that is signed for. Damage claims can be filed as stated in the procedures below.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES
Because of the personal and custom nature of our products, Custom orders can not be cancelled after payment has been received and are non-returnable, non-refundable. Standard orders cannot be cancelled once they have shipped. Standard order returns are accepted only on a case by case basis. Do not ship any order or items back to us without contacting us first for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and instructions. If a return is authorized you will be given instructions on how to return the item(s). Refunds will only be given after receipt of the item(s) agreed to in the RMA. Item(s) must be returned un-opened, in the original packaging, damage free and in 100% resell-able condition. Shipping and/or insurance is not refundable. You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping. We reserve the right to judge the resale-ability of any and all returned items. There will be a 20% restocking fee applied to all returned orders. If any returned item is not in its original, resell-able  condition, a 55% damage fee will be added to the restocking fee on that/those items.

DAMAGED PACKAGE CLAIMS:
To file a damage claim: You must take pictures of all of the packaging upon receipt. It is better if you take pictures BEFORE you open the package. You must contact us within 7 days of receipt of your order. We will give you instructions on how to submit photographs of all of the packaging as it was when it arrived and the specific damage to the contents with an explanation of what was lost, broken or damaged. The U.S. Post Office requires proof to pay a claim and your claim is likely to be rejected without it. We are required to supply them with the invoice for you. If the U.S. Post Office damages your package, we (you and us) must abide by their decision on the claim. We professionally package all orders to avoid damage for everyone’s sake. Keep in mind, claims can take weeks, so please be patient. We cannot speed up the U.S. Post Office claim processing and we shall not be responsible for any inconvenience to you as a result of the delay of the delivery of your package and/or waiting on damage claims.

If your package is damaged by a dog or another animal, cut by a box cutter while opening, or damaged because of neglect (such as leaving it in a mail box or in the weather or not providing a secure location for delivery) Kauai Girl Soap cannot be held responsible. We are also not responsible for the cost of re-delivery of a package if the you (the customer) have supplied an incorrect or un-deliverable mailing address. Our shopping cart software attempts to verify USPS addresses but because it works directly with the US Postal System, they are sometimes wrong and errors occur. You must verify that the USPS verified address shown in the checkout phase of your order is in fact your correct shipping address. Please make sure your address is entered in the U.S. Post Office standardized format.

Since we are the “shipper” the U.S. Post Office requires that we must enter the claim for your order should one be needed. We must all (you and us) abide by the US Post Office’s decision. We will accommodate a reshipment of your package if a claim is paid. If you are the shipper (sending an RMA back to us) and it is damaged, you must enter the claim with the US Post Office yourself, we are unable to do anything further for you regarding your damaged package.  As stated at above, only Priority Mail packages are insured against damage and only up to $50 without additional insurance.

LOST PACKAGES:
If your package is missing in action, we unfortunately have to wait 15 days to file a claim through USPS. Kauai Girl Soap aims for quick and accurate deliveries, but lost packages sometimes happen and are out of our control once they leave our hands. We cannot speed up the U.S. Post Office claim processing and shall not be responsible for any inconvenience as a result of the delay of having to wait to file a claim. If your package was sent Priority Mail, it is insured for a maximum of $50 unless you’ve paid for the additional insurance for the value over $50. To file a claim through Kauai Girl Soap for a lost Priority Mail package, you must notify us within 10 days of the mailing date of your package. As stated at the top, only Priority Mail packages are insured against loss.
